Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)
Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.
=~=~= The 8th Annual Vanilla Level Design Contest=~=~=~ =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ Collaboration Hack ~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ Thank you for downloading the 8th Annual VLDC collaboration hack! *NOTE: For best results, use an accurate emulator (e.g. BSNES, SNES9X, ZMZ). You can beat the hack on ZSNES, but due to the nature of the SA-1 chip, the odd graphical flicker - or even a crash - may occur.* ============================= BRIEF DESCRIPTION AND HISTORY ============================= ~From the desk of S.N.N.~ For the past eight years, SMW Central has held a vanilla level design contest every spring. "Vanilla level design" refers to using only Lunar Magic to create your level - that is, no custom blocks, no custom sprites, and no custom code of any sort. We eventually began allowing people to use custom music since, truthfully, we've all gotten a bit sick of the original five or six tracks SMW offered, but this is not factored into their score. Once they finished designing their level, they would submit an IPS file, it would get judged + ranked, and that would be the end of it. Like last year, all of the entries were placed into one giant ROM and it was treated as a full hack. From the time of the contest's conception to the point of the hack's release, it took about 4 months. That's excellent, and I'd like to thank everyone who assisted with it. The hack features 86 submitted entries, 4 switch palaces, and 4 super secret additional levels for those who can complete the whole hack and figure out the riddle. This means that there is a grand total of 94 levels and 121 exits for you to find .. which also makes this the largest Super Mario World hack released, ever. Wow! To help you track your progress, a counter is included at the top right of the map when you're standing on a level that tracks both the normal exit, secret exit (if one is present), and the Yoshi coins (if they are present in the level). The game also autosaves each time you move on the map. *NOTE: Only the normal and secret exits are required to unlock the special world. Yoshi coins are NOT required, and they do NOT do anything if you collect them all. If you're one of those crazy 100% completionists, go for it - otherwise, focus your efforts on the exits themselves.* That being said, enjoy!
