Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)
Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.
Hey everybody! Here it is: CHODIUS, a hack of Gradius for the NES in INes format. All the hackings are totally done by myself =3, have fun on it! Usage: Included is the IPS patch for Chodius, you need to find the original Gradius rom yourself (why? think!), you may need an IPS patcher, for your system also (snestool and ucon are good examples). By the way, if you can't read Chinese numerials, see c_table.gif included in the ZIP file. Tools used: Nesticle from Bloodlust software (80%) X-Char 3.0 beta 2 from Planet X software (10%) PC Tools Deluxe R4.21 from Central Point software (10%) X-Late 3.0 Preview 1 from Planet X software (0% :( ) Most of the hackings were done via the character editor of Nesticle (an older verion! Newer versions seems to have incorrect palette information in the editor), the main reason being able to view the changes made immediately, moreover, the record movie function enables me to record each stage and play and play and play and play... to change the graphics. X-Char is used in some modification if the target spite is large. PC Tools is used in editing the game texts (ie changing all of them to 'so called' chinese). Though X-Late 3.0 seems to be powerful, I didn't used a bit of it, since this preview version seems to mess up with the ROM header after saving (or was it that I don't know how to use it?) Don't get serious and have fun! Gilbert Cheung (27-2-98) Email Address: [email protected] Home Page : http://hkusub.hku.hk/~h9314690/~index2.html
