Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)
Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.
Mega Man 3: The Rise and Fall of Dr. Wily Version 1.0 - by DurfarC --------------------------------------------------- This is a ROM hack of Capcom's Mega Man 3 for the NES. All levels have been redesigned, a new title screen has been made, the colour palettes have been changed and some minor graphics have been edited. Other things are pretty much unchanged. ------ How to play: The IPS file you have downloaded is to be patched to a Mega Man 3 ROM. Make a copy of the original, unmodified ROM, rename it if you wish and patch the IPS file to the newly created file. I recommend using Lunar IPS to do this task, you can find it with a simple Google search. Have fun! ------ Known bugs/glitches/problems: - In Needleman's Doc Robot stage, there's aa ladder behind a missile launcher a few screens before the end of the level. When climbing down/falling, Mega Man becomes invisible for a second. - In the first Skull Castle stage, a water splash occurs not only when you jump into the water, but also when you use the ladders situated in the water. This is because of the way the original game is programmed; since there were no underwater ladders in the original game, they didn't have to care about it. ------ Game hints: - In the Doc Robot and Wily stages, use youur weaponry to your advantage, especially Magnet Missles, Search Snakes and Shadow Blades. If you want to do a no miss-run of the hack, those weapons have to be used on certain enemies (Note: It IS possible to kill or get past every single enemy in the hack without being hit, I've tested that multiple times). - If you run out of weapon energy for any RRush item during the later stages, there's almost always an enemy nearby you can kill and make respawn until you get a weapon refill. - If you're having trouble with the stages,, take your time and pay attention to the enemy placements. If you try to rush through the levels, enemies are more likely to hit you and eventually push you into bottomless pits or spikes. - There are fewer E-tanks and extra lives aavailable compared to the original game.
