Realistic Weapon Name Conversion ModDescription

Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)

Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.

Shadowrun Conversion Mod
V2.2 - 8/6/09

--------------------

Intro:
This mod is simply to change the current in-game weapons into what I felt were good real-life equivalents (or just good replacements), and make a few overall game adjustments. I tried to keep everything as accurate as possible, by making the power and damage of a weapon mostly dependant on the caliber of the bullet it typically shoots; however, I'm not that much of a gun nut, and most of the info was taken from Wikipedia, so it may be wrong, so please, email me if you feel there should be a change, and explain why - I'd like this mod to be as best as possible.

And as of V2.0, this is no longer just a Weapons Mod - this is what I consider a full conversion mod. In addition to the weapons mod, there has been a complete rehaul of the starting characters/races, attributes/skills, and inventories, in order to add more variety to the game and whatnot.

I am also slowly working on revising the text/dialogue, for it to make more sense - for example, editing one option to include slang when the other also includes it. Or replacing normal dialogue with slang for game characters that tend to use slang (and thus make their dialogue less out-of-place). I've included a few changes already, and I will re-release the mod whenever I feel I've edited a decent portion of the text/dialogue.

--------------------

Version Changes:
1.0 - First version.
1.1 - A few minor changes; now mostly obsolete and not worth mentioning
2.0 - Many changes, primarily starting races/attributes/etc; read changelog and "Starting Changes" section for more info
2.1 - Minor changes, only text-based (as far as I remember)
2.2 - More minor text changes

--------------------

Changelog:
-Completely revised starting races/characters, attributes/skills, and inventories
-Upped price of Ruger pistol to $250
-Reduced prices of AA-12 and Beretta shotguns to $2000 and $2500 respectively
-Plethora of menu/text/dialogue changes (mainly from V2.1)

--------------------

Installation:
Find a clean Shadowrun ROM to patch, and make a copy in case something goes wrong while patching.

Next, you'll need an IPS patcher. The one I used both to create the IPS file and patch the game is "Lunar IPS". Just to note, if for some reason the ROM doesn't show up when you open the program, change the files types to "All Files"

Then, just run the program, select the IPS file, and then select the ROM, and then you're done.

Help:
There are a few things that could make this mod even better, but because I don't know how to do them, I might as well pitch the ideas; maybe somebody will happen to know how to do it.
-Change what weapons are available for sale in each store
-Once the above is doable, add more weapons to the game, of each category
-Completely replace grenades with other weapons - just editing the memory addresses that normally affect other weapons apparently isn't enough to turn them into a non-grenade weapon
-Replace/add other inventory items, such as armor or items
-Somehow make the "Enchanted Dagger" item useful, and somehow implement it into the game (maybe as another side-mission, like Stark)

--------------------

End notes:
There probably aren't going to be any major changes from this point, unless somebody can assist in something from the "Help" section; however, like I said earlier, I'm open to suggestions for changes if they're good.
And I can make personal additions/changes to the patch by request; just tell me (out of the things already changed) you'd like changed even further (or back to normal), and I'll be more than happy to do it for you.

--------------------

Finally, I'd like to thank Dragoon ZER0 for helping me create the mod, and inspiring me to take the time and actually do it. And recently, showing me how to edit the inventories of characters, and how to fix checksums.
